STA Travel UK & Oz

21/08/2014 by India Rabey

A while ago I had the pleasure of doing some work for STA Travel in both London and Melbourne, Australia. Work included an identity for a travel package campaign for London, and for Australia; in store campaigns and various advertising promotions, some working with their tourism partners. Materials created were used online, in store, across printed media and even wrapped round a classic camper! See below for a few examples. Fiona King, Marketing Manager at STA Travel Australia said: “We […]

Westonbirt seasonal guide

06/03/2014 by India Rabey

I was asked to update Westonbirt‘s seasonal offsite leaflet recently (SS14). Using the template previously created and following the new brand guidelines, I updated and artworked this 10pp concertina fold leaflet. I also sourced and managed the print for the client, ensuring all 115,000 were delivered to their various distributors on time.

Westonbirt Magazine, spring 2014

26/02/2014 by India Rabey

The latest issue of the Westonbirt Magazine by the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum has been door-dropped to 20,000 homes across the region and we’ve received several emails of praise about this latest issue. As always, I work on this quarterly 60 page magazine closely with the editor and the team at Westonbirt. In the spring issue I wanted to push the layout a bit further and it’s allowed for some really interesting articles to shine through. (I’m particularly interested on […]

New Forest Visitor Guide

25/02/2014 by India Rabey

The New Forest National Park publish a newspaper-style visitor guide each year. Following a successful three-way quote, I was asked to design and artwork this oversized 16 page annual guide in keeping with the style set out by the Forestry Commission. The New Forest Essential Guide 2014 contains information about the National Park, a visitor map for the area (which we updated for 2014) and comprehensive events listings (the most fiddly part). 120,000 copies were printed and are available for […]

South Downs National Park

04/01/2014 by India Rabey

This year I’ve been fortunate enough to do some work for Britain’s newest national park, the South Downs. Starting with a few short run leaflets about woodlands which then moved on to a welcome leaflet for the whole national park. I worked closely with the client who supplied the copy and images and created a 16pp A3-DL leaflet which adhered to strict brand guidelines while remaining compelling and informative. I’ve also been rolling out their quarterly Volunteer Ranger Service newsletter, […]

Autumn & Winter Westonbirt Magazines

09/12/2013 by India Rabey

It has been so long since I updated the latest issue of the Westonbirt Magazine on here that two are being posted at once! Westonbirt is currently undergoing something of a rebrand at the moment and it was time the magazine cover followed suit. A new masthead was designed by the in house senior designer at the Forestry Commission for August’s issue, bringing it more up to date with the site brand and to better reflect the redesign of the […]

A fitting resignation letter

09/12/2013 by India Rabey

Last week (early December) I handed my notice in at the Forestry Commission. I’ll be sad to go but it seemed like the right time considering my freelancing work has really taken off in the last few months and I’ve been working every hour of the day to fit it all in. Since I’m a designer working at the Forestry Commission, I thought it only fair that I design my resignation letter and print it on to FSC certified timber. […]

The Gloucester Road Cookbook

14/10/2013 by India Rabey

Here’s one of my major projects this year, finally in print! It’s the Gloucester Road Cookbook, produced by Gloucester Road WI (of which I am president) and celebrates this wonderful high street, with recipes from many independent traders and members of the WI. I designed, photographed, illustrated and artworked the whole thing. Working closely with the rest of the cookbook team – including writer Michaela Parker, freelance chef Danielle Coombs, as well as those involved in getting the businesses on […]

Winning work!

13/10/2013 by India Rabey

I was proud to be announced as a nominee for two categories at the inaugural Brand You awards from Bristol Media. It was great to be there on the night, to catch up with familiar faces and meet many new ones. I was over the moon to receive a Highly Commended in the print category (including magazines and promotional material). The other nomination I received was for design, naturally. Click here for more information about the awards and to see […]
